Asian Heritage Foundation of Southern Alberta:
In December 2001, the Senate of Canada passed a motion to officially designate May as Asian Heritage Month in recognition of the important contributions of Asian Canadians to the settlement, growth and social and cultural development of Canada and in recognition of Canada’s diversity. ImaginASIAN, Calgary’s Asian Heritage Month, joins cities from all across Canada in presenting a month long festival to celebrate Canada’s Pan-Asian heritage. Through ImaginASIAN and other programs during the year, the AHF creates engaging opportunities for people of all backgrounds to participate in activities and events that reflect the diversity of Asian-Canadians in Alberta. CVYA is an active partner of Asian Heritage Month, as coordinator of several events during the month of May including the annual gala and ImaginAsian bus tour.
